Picture shows 5.5 gallon on top shelf, 2.5 gallon on middle shelf, and supplies on bottom shelf.I chose this stand over others for the weight rating of each shelf. The fact that I can put tanks on all three shelves if I wanted to is remarkable. They feel sturdy like they'll never warp because they are much thicker in size than other stands' shelves. The assembly instructions were great too, but I did use a ratchet instead of the included hand tool to ensure tightness of the hardware. For those looking to put a 10 gallon on the top shelf of this stand--I don't think it has the width/depth for it enough unless you use a vertical rather than a horizontal design tank. You see how full the top shelf looks with only my horizontal 5.5 gallon. If you love my idea of using the 2nd shelf for a 2.5 gallon, the idea does require some modification, such as using metal cutters to cut through some of the metal side wall to slip cords through. Topping off/changing water requires a siphon hose to reach inside. I only put snails in here because it is a pain to slide the tank out a bit if I ever need to reach inside and I'd never wanna stress out a floating fish like that. I chose live plants that won't grow tall for that reason too, so I won't have to worry about trimming. If you don't have live plants and burrowing snails like I do then you'll need to use a gravel vacuum to handle waste, which will never fit unless you slide the tank out so DON'T DO IT. My small tank works great there because I was meticulous deciding what to put in it. The shelf is much better for supplies in most use cases.I love the look of the stand too. It has the strength of metal and the look of dark wood. It feels safe like it won't fall over, but if you have a child that would use the sides to pull themselves up from sitting, then I recommend using the drywall anchor that comes with it to secure the stand to the wall.
