This amphibious pump is designed for use in both freshwater and saltwater, Coral culture. Equipped with three nozzles, one with a diameter of 1/2" and the other with a diameter of 3/4", and 5/8” providing different water flow effects. Because it is an amphibian water pump, it has a set of inlet and outlet for connecting pipes that can be used in and outside the water.

When being used as an external pump, make sure air is unable to get into the hose, because the pump is only intended to keep water flowing.
I gave it three stars because the pump inlet and outlets are not US standard sizes. This creates issues if you want to modify the connections to use PVC for example. The PVC fittings are not threaded the same way as the pumps inlets and outlets are. While they may fit, they are not snug enough for my comfort and will most likely damage the threading on the pump. Which means you must use their fittings and only their fittings. I could not get their fittings to work on any US standard size hoses.The fittings they provide are very cheap and do not look like they would hold up to even a years use.The good news is the pump itself looks like it was made very well. The technology built in is pretty awesome. It definitely pumps like it should mine was the 1060gph model.I tried several pumps and this out performed the rest better flow rate less vibrations one of the smaller pumps i found to be actual size as described if you turn it on high it will be a full work out on the finny ones lolIf you are using this pump externally please know that you will need to silicone the casing of the pump closed cause it will leak once its in use. Luckily I tested it the day before I set up my tank and was able to try and silicone it so it didn't leak I bought 2 of them and 1 of them still if it gets any pressure on it itll still slightly leak I recommend you use it internally if possible so you don't have to fight thisUsed for a science experiment pumping water from river into a tank and then back out. Worked remarkably well - even better than the $1200 pump we had to replace with this unit on short notice!not overly big, and looks sturdy, gave it 4 stars because haven't had a chance to run it yet.Use for Saltwater aquarium return pump. Great water flow and cant hear it under my sump. All in all just greatThis is what I was looking for. A very quiet pump.
