Four stars because it's a bit early to give a good review. That said. They are performing well. I have two of them at each end of a 110G tank and have them oscillating about every five seconds. One of them seems to have a bit more hum than the other. I can't compare to my old ones because they are twice as big. These being 1600 GPH. Compared to others I've heard at the aquarium shops, I'd say they are inline with the others. As far as performance goes. They're doing a great job of moving my water around from top to bottom without much for dead spots and not any bad hot spots. They stop immediately when the power is cut and start back up smoothly when called to run. They don't turn in reverse and I hear no slack being taken up when they start. They've obviously been designed for oscillation.Like I said, it's a bit early to speak for any kind of longevity. If they crap the bed anytime soon I'll try to update the review and let it be known.I have purchased several of these. My husband has replaced all of his old water pumps, with this one. It holds very well and the fish love the current.I BOUGHT THIS CIRCULATION PUMP, AND WHEN Ii GOT IT, IT DID'NT WORK. I GOT A REPLACEMENT AND A MONTH LATER, IT DOESNT WORK EITHER. I AM TRYING TO RETURN IT FOR THE 2ND TIME, AND CANNOT. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP.good reliable product. I had mine about a year and so far no problems. good strong flow. Only short coming might be that the cord is too short and needed an extension cordI got this for my 92 gallon saltwater set up. It's a bow front corner tank, which makes circulation an issue. This thing really moves water! Two negatives are when you slide the magnets as suggested, black stuff sometimes rubs off and I had a horrible time screwing the base onto the body. You have to apply pressure, which made me afraid I was going to strip the threads. Once this is in place, it's a work horse that you can forget about. It isn't real obtrusive in the tank either.Works great strong flowThe product could be fantastic but they cheaped out and offer bad customer service. Each powerhead is capable of churning water in a 110 gallon tank. Unfortunately, the pivot point for the entire power head is 1/8 of an inch diameter plastic and breaks very easily. Furthermore, the manufacturer does not offer replacement pivot balls. If your pivot ball breaks, you have to buy a new unit.I have a 180 gallon african cichlid tank & this water circulator works great. I use 2 of them @ opposite sides & depths of tank. Pretty powerful but doesnt streamline flow into a water cannon. Makes my artificial plants come to life.
